Image courtesy of First Supply With the November 3 midterm elections approaching, ASA is continuing its work to connect members of Congress with the businesses and people that make up the PHCP-PVF supply chain. As part of the association's ongoing advocacy efforts, ASA members are welcoming elected officials into their facilities, giving lawmakers a firsthand look at the industry's operations, economic contributions and the challenges facing distributors. These visits provide an opportunity to discuss the impact of federal policies on businesses, employees and the communities they serve. On October 14, First Supply hosted Congressman Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) for a tour of its Joe Poehling Innovation and Distribution Center. The visit included discussions about issues facing the PHCP-PVF industry and the critical role federal policy plays in supporting wholesale distribution. Congressional engagement continued last week when Rep. Carol Miller (R-WV) visited JABO Supply's Huntington, West Virginia, location. The tour offered another opportunity to highlight the industry's importance to local economies and connect the day-to-day realities of distribution with decisions being made in Washington. Rep. With a new Congress taking shape after Election Day, maintaining those connections will remain an important part of ASA's advocacy work. Want to bring a member of Congress to your facility?
