SWPD Annual Leadership Conference is a Success

The Southwest Pacific Distributors (SWPD), a regional affiliate of ASA, recently held its annual leadership conference at Indian Wells, California and all participants enjoyed quality time of education, networking and, of course, fun.  This year’s attendance at the conference was the highest it has been since the pandemic!

The Conference was open with an educational session designed for up-and-coming leaders and the room was full of attendees eager to learn and grow in their leadership skills.  Following the session, an opening networking reception was held for all attendees and spouses which is always one of the highlights of the conference where old friends get to catch up and new friends are made.

The following day, participants enjoyed another education session focusing on helping them leverage more effective behaviors as a leader.  Participants had the opportunity to complete the DiSC personality assessment prior to the conference and their results were used during the educational session providing everyone direct feedback and help in improving their leadership skills.  Thanks to John Freer, Founder at Leading on Purpose, for facilitating both leadership sessions.

The conference ended with a fun and competitive round of golf.  Excitement for the golf outing was so high, all golf openings were filled and additional participants had to be turned away.  We will definitely plan for even more participation than last year.  Following the outing participants enjoyed a good time sharing drinks and networking while also congratulating the winning team and those who won individual contests held during the outing.

SWPD’S next event is the Annual Awards and Recognition dinner.  The dinner is attended by over 200 members of SWPD and is always a great time for networking, good food and recognizing industry leaders.  This year’s dinner is being held the evening of October 5^th at the Long Beach Marriott in Long Beach, CA.  Be sure to put this date on your calendars!
