Wednesday, April 2, 2025 / News ASA HR Connect Group Collaborates to Share Best Practices and Solve Cross-Industry Problems ASA’s Connect groups are virtual communities made up of members and organized by functional areas. These groups meet periodically throughout the year and provide an opportunity to share best practices and solve specific problems members may have. There are eight Connect communities that focus on sales, marketing, HR, training, technology, and more. These communities can be extremely effective in helping ASA members work through various questions, concerns and issues given the collective experience of the groups. “When you think about the combined years of experience in these groups, there’s likely not a situation or circumstance that hasn’t been encountered by someone who can help their industry peers with advice or guidance,” said Mike Adelizzi, ASA CEO. While the groups meet via online meeting at least quarterly, members are not limiting their interaction to only these meetings. The connection does not stop when the Zoom call ends. Members have been leveraging their peer-to-peer networks via email and other social platforms with just-in-time problem-solving. Recently, one HR professional had a question as he was developing an HR policy for his company. He used the Connect group to gather feedback on their individual policies and garnered several answers from trusted peers, some within minutes. Participating members are also realizing the benefits of Connect communities for not only a member’s specific company, but for PHCP/PVF distributors, manufacturers, and independent representatives. “It’s comforting to know there is a group of HR professionals in our industry where I can pose questions or share ideas and get feedback quickly. While we are technically competitors, we all care about this industry and many of us share the same experiences and concerns. The Connect group discussions help raise the bar for our entire industry,” according to James Lytle, HR Generalist at Falk Plumbing Supply. “It’s great to see members taking advantage of these communities and discussing various topics in real-time in addition to scheduled online meetings. It underscores the power of ASA’s Connect groups and their value to our industry,” added Adelizzi. For more information about ASA’s Connect Groups, please visit our website here. Print
