Thursday, September 21, 2023 / News New ASA Tool to Connect Jobseekers to Member Companies – Are You Ready? Approximately 18 months ago, ASA launched Phase I of Project Talent, a strategic initiative created based on data showing the future of the PHCP and PVF industry is facing a critical issue of adequately staffing member companies for growth. Since its inception Project Talent has aimed to create awareness of the industry for jobseekers and provide recruiting tools and resources to ASA members. Phase I successfully focused on the increased visibility of our industry and its career opportunities. In the coming weeks, ASA will be launching Phase II of Project Talent including a new tool aimed at directing jobseekers to member company websites. This is where ASA would like member support in ensuring company websites are updated and using best practices to increase the odds of attracting and hiring the talent needed for business growth. ASA members will be able to indicate whether they are actively hiring in their online ASA profile found at asa.net. This information will then be transmitted to supplyindustrycareers.com, the website dedicated to highlighting career opportunities within the industry. Potential jobseekers who visit the site will now be able to choose a geographic area where they would like to pursue employment. All ASA members in that area will be listed and those members who have indicated in the member portal that they are actively hiring will be visually highlighted so the user can seamlessly link to member websites where the local recruiting and hiring process can begin. To take full advantage of this new feature and put ASA members in a better competitive position in the battle for talent, it’s important to take a critical look at your website through the lens of a jobseeker. ASA has created a checklist to help you determine if your website meets some basic standards proven to attract talent and help guide updates you may want to make to your site to maximize its effectiveness. You can download the checklist here. While the finishing touches are put on this new feature, its recommended that you not only review your website and make any necessary updates, but you or your company’s designated administrator also access your company’s profile on asa.net and become familiar with the “Has Available Jobs” option.
